Veterinary Technician/Nurse (Large Animal Medicine)

The Purdue University Large Animal Hospital is hiring two credentialed technicians to join the Internal Medicine team to work closely with the Internists, residents and interns to treat equine, bovine and other farm animal patients. They will be responsible for assisting with a wide variety of procedures associated with both elective and out-patient cases, and intensive care hospitalized patients. The Internal Medicine team is tasked with reception of incoming emergencies, including neonatal, neurologic, acute abdomen and anemic cases. Technicians working within Internal Medicine have the opportunity to learn and perform higher-level technical skills, as well as work with advanced medical technology. They will be responsible for clean and well-stocked examination and treatment rooms.
Workday
The medicine technicians will participate in an on-call rotation schedule, including some weekends and holidays.

- Monitor and care for medicine patients
- Monitor and care for emergency and critical patients
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples
- Monitor and maintain general anaesthesia
- Post-op care for surgery patients
- Radiography
