TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are a busy 1 doctor small animal and exotic practice that integrates holistic modalities and approach with Western medicine to provide our patients the best options and care. The role of the Veterinary Assistant is to serve as an extra set of hands for the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians. Qualified candidates will be seeking long-term employment with a desire to build long-lasting relationships with our staff, clients, and their pets. Applicant must be compassionate, self-motivated, and dependable with an eye for attention to detail. Primary responsibilities will include patient restraint for exams obtain brief medical history from owners client communication enter charges electronically perform laser therapy treatments, fill prescriptions stocking and prepping exam rooms cleaning duties including laundry administer SQ fluids and injections Veterinary Assistants must be capable of lifting 40 pounds by oneself and able to lift over your head, remain on your feet for the entire workday, learn and perform proper and safe animal restraint, have a flexible schedule, and be computer savvy. Although this is a permanent, part-time position (approximately 15-25 hours per week), we are currently on a modified work schedule (doing curbside drop off appointments) due to COVID-19. Hours should be expected to increase in the future as the pandemic threat recedes. Experience is helpful, but not necessary as we will train someone with the right attributes.
