Mt Pleasant Hospital for Animals and Pleasant Paws Pet Center are looking for a full and part-time veterinarian to join our amazing, compassionate team. We are a privately owned, small animal and exotics practice in Newtown, Connecticut, providing top quality patient care with a focus on client education in a fun, friendly environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and enjoy building relationships with our clients and their pets. An interest in exotics is an asset, but not required. Our facility is beautiful, clean, and modern. We have plenty of room, with 4 exam rooms, a comfort room, full in-house Idexx lab, digital radiology, Storz Endoscope unit, as well as Oncura ultrasound with imaging assistance and rapid results as well as Orthopedic Surgeon on-call for specialty orthopedic surgeries. Our second practice, Pleasant Paws Pet Center is brand new, state of the art, 20,000 sq feet building. We offer a complete one stop shop for pet owners, offering services like Luxury Boarding, Day Care, Grooming, pocket pet boarding, Training, Grooming, veterinary services and Rehabilitation services with under water tread mill and pet store. Our great team of technicians and CSRs are cheerful, energetic, and competent - we rely on them for all their skills. Good physical and emotional health for our team is of great importance to us. We offer: A great pay scale with ProSal,. Minimum base salary starting at $100,000 with no negative accrual and no upfront non-compete in first six months of signing. ProsSal commission 22 % after base is met. Generous signing bonus, student loan support and relocation stipend (if applicable) Paid CE and paid time off for CE . Practice will pay $1500 once receipts submitted. Health insurance: Health, dental and Vision, practice contributes 50% per month toward premiums A SIMPLE IRA, after 1 year of employment, as allowed by the plan contract with up to 3% match for your pre-tax deductions Paid vacation, 3 weeks (15 workdays), Pet medications and supplies at cost +10%, professional services like rads at IRS allowable discount. Closed on New Year’s, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
